While I am "fully" employed as Plant Manager for Nicola Mining (7 days on / 7 days off), I need to secure other contracts for taxation reasons.  For consulting on my off-time, services I can provide include: plant inspections (i.e. provide informed opinion on overall state and suitability of a plant), possible routes for bottleneck elimination, design of small upgrades, and potentially QP work.

After more than 20 years in Mining, I am keen to diversify to maintain my interest and continued learning.  To that end, I have been working to build a home machine shop.  Because I am still in the setup phase, I have (2) machines operating out of (5).  The operating units are an Elliott lathe with a swing of about 16" and a bed of around 5' long, with both imperial and metric threading capabiltity, and a (well experienced) horizontal mill.  I can do basic welding & fabricating, and have developed an interest in what I would call "proper" cast-iron welding.  I'll try anything once, and try it again if it works!

Other machines to be commissioned include a 17" swing Willson lathe, a heavy-duty Bridgeport clone (with coolant and 40-taper quill), and a shaper for internal keyways.

I am a Mineral Process Engineer with more than 20 years of experience.  I am primarily a flotation-plant engineer, but have worked in CIP and roast/CIL plants, as well as performed consulting work in Merrill-Crowe plants.  Areas of knowledge include: flotation metallurgy, crushing & comminution, 3-dimensional drafting in AutoCAD, and mill

I am "hands-on" to the extreme such that I can do almost anything in a mill.
